This is a post dedicated to the amazing Jeff Hardy. Most of the icons I made before his retirement, and I never got a chance to post them. I thought now it's about time I did so.
At the bottome of this entry, you'll also find some Rey Mysterio icons.

Music For Relief

  • Jul. 12th, 2009 at 11:46 PM
All Around Me
MUSIC FOR RELIEF is a grassroots effort comprised of musicians, music industry professionals and fans who believe that together we can create positive change. Established in 2005 to provide aid for those affected by the tsunami tragedy in South Asia, the idea for MUSIC FOR RELIEF originated amongst the members of the band Linkin Park who wanted to do something to help the victims. The idea was that if they made a donation, and then asked their musician peers and their fans to make a donation as well, a huge impact could be made in assisting relief efforts. With this in mind they started reaching out to others in the music community to get involved and became the founders of MUSIC FOR RELIEF. Our Mission is to respond to natural disasters and help victims recover and rebuild with an emphasis on housing, education programs and resources. MUSIC FOR RELIEF also recognizes the environmental consequences of global warming, which has demonstrated the capability to accelerate and strengthen certain types of natural disasters. Therefore the second goal of MUSIC FOR RELIEF is to prevent and decrease future natural disasters by reducing greenhouse gasses, seeking renewable forms of energy and educating the public about climate change.

The great news is, now you can do something to get involved. Music For Relief has a swagbucks now. You use it as your search engine, and part of the proceeds you earn just by searching the web go to victims of tragedies being helped by Music For Relief.

Revenge of the Fallen

  • Jun. 24th, 2009 at 2:00 PM
Me
Last night at 11:59 p.m., I was sitting in a movie theater with my eyes glued to the screen, waiting for the previews to be over. I would be amongst the very first and very lucky people in the world who would see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
Let me take this time to tell you that I go to a LOT of midnight premiers for movies that I love. I don't like to party, but I love to stay up late and be out late at night. My idea of a good late night out is sitting in a cinema eating jelly beans and popcorn, while watching a kick ass action film on a huge screen. I live for shit like this.
I met the funniest guys there, too. They were sitting right beside me and my sister, and they kept stealing our jelly beans and making fun of all the other people in the theater with us - but only the ones that deserved it, mind you. ;) and it was all in good fun.
At 11:59, the lights went down and the previews started rolling - and lasted for far too long. By the time the movie started playing, I was on the edge of my seat in anticipation. Well, not literally..I was pretty comfortably relaxed in the theater seats, but you get the idea.
First scenes of the movie..EPIC. I was absolutely enchanted from beginning to end. The soundtrack for this one is, if possible, even more amazing than the first one. I'm a huge classical music fan, though. ;)
Revenge of the Fallen was a lot funnier than the first Trasformers; but also more scarey and sad at times. I won't give anything away, because I want you all to go see it for yourselves. And, there is no way in hell I could ever do it justice.
Anyway, for once I'm not going to give you a complete play by play report or write a review on the movie at all. There is far too much to talk about to even begin pondering a way to do that. Just go see it as soon as possible; I promise it won't disappoint. In fact, I'm considering going back very very soon. Maybe next weekend. ;)

And I leave you with..
That's why they call it an ass whoopin'.

Well, this is it. It's finally arrived, and my time bugging you to preorder has finally come to an end. 21st Century Breakdown was released on Friday, May 15th. I received my copy on that very day. (For those of you fools who didn't preorder and didn't get a chance to buy it on Friday, or STILL haven't bought it, HA. I tried to tell you to preorder, didn't I? Can't say I didn't give you fair warning.)

Anyway, I've been listening to the album quite a lot; it's quite incredible. I already have several favorite songs - not to mention that I know all the lyrics. :P (Thank you iTunes for allowing me to add lyrics to my iPod..Yeah, I did cheat a little. But doesn't everyone?)
I also got tickets to see Green Day in San Antonio, TX on August 9th..this is quite incredible considering I live in Hot Springs, AR. I think it is going to be at least about an eight to ten hour drive from here. Ahwell, I love road trips.

Now, you know I've been pushing it for months now..what is a few months more, yeah?
Use the widget below to listen, view lyrics, tour dates, news, pictures, etc., screw around for all I care. So long as you use it for something. ;)

One more day!

Road near you

Cool
Guess who got their drivers license? ME! :D
I passed the test on monday, and went down to get my picture taken and all the paperwork filed on Friday. I now officially have a drivers license. Street legal, baby. And loving it. :)

Now I'll be searching for a job over the next few weeks. Finally! I can work. I've been itching for employment for almost two years now. But it's so hard to find someone who will hire minors sometimes. Being 16 with a DL helps a lot, though.

Speaking of working. I've been hard at work promoting Green Day. They released and new single, Know Your Enemy, which can be previewed in the widget I am posting below, and bought at iTunes. The video has also been released, but is so far unavailable for download.

And if you're in the promoting mood, why don't you do me and the band a favor and join Green Day's Official Street Team. It's absolutely free, and you'll be eligible to win a lot of cool prizes. Just follow the link and put dead_beat in the referred by box. :)

I PASSED

  • Apr. 20th, 2009 at 7:01 PM
Cool
Guess who is officially a licensed driver now?
ME! Thats right, I've officially passed my road test. I'm now approved to drive across the entire US without a legal adult in the car with me. Driving alone? Finally! God, I'm super excited.

The lady that gave me the test was so awesome. 'The faster you go, the more I like it.' What a riot, man. Apperently some police officers actually do rock. :D
She told me I passed before I had even gotten back to the Troop Headquarters. 'Don't worry about the lines, just park it straight or they'll think I got a bunch of drunks up here.' I loved her.

Anyway. So my sister passed too. 2 more 16 year old drivers on the road. Watch out cause we could be coming to a city near you soon. :)

Speaking of driving. I love streets. And street teams.
So why don't you do me a favor and join one?! Green Day's Official Street Team Put dead_beat in the referred by box upon sign up.

Here you are, down at my feet again

All Around Me

Well, hello there everyone. :) Today I have a post of Flyleaf signatures and a few icons to match them.
Unfortunately, I've been fighting with livejournal for a week now, and it won. It just would not let me upload the signatures properly. I had no trouble with the icons, but I had to host all of these signatures on a photobucket. Which is annoying. I cringe at the thought of the day that my bandwidth is exceeded. So I must tell you. You MUST host any of the images you take on your OWN photobucket or other image hosting site. If I find people using mine, I'll take the images down and there will be no more signatures shared with you.
Other than that, the rest is simple.
Credit me if you use any.
And you'll notice that I have posted the bases with some of them. If you want to put your own text on them, I'm perectly fine with that. Just credit me with a 'base by vain_regrets at lj'. Mmmkay? It's that easy. ;)

Lacey - Sorrow

Hello everyone. For the past week(between editing and posting my Trashy Life icons), I have been working on a batch of Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince icons and banner for all of you to use. All of these images came from the HBP trailers. (With the exception of on Sirius Black banner from Order of the Phoenix.)

ALL of the banners are size 500x200. You must click on them to get the full sized banner. Otherwise, you can't view them poperly and they look poor quality.

Some of the banners with text I have included the bases for at the bottom of this post. If you want to add your own text to those bases, just credit me for the base if you use them anywhere.
YOU MUST CREDIT ME FOR EVERYTHIG YOU TAKE.

In this entry you will find:
19 icons
55 Banners

Trashy
There is this scroll/icon maker on LJ that all of you need to fall in love with.  soda_pop9  just made me thirteen scrolls using icons I edited. And she did a beautiful job. It's not something I could ever pull off so well myself, so I'm extremely happy to have worked with her. I hope all of you will ask her to work with you, as well, because she really does a woderful job. And she did it far faster than I could have imagined. ;)

If you take any of these, credit both vain_regrets and soda_pop9.

Today I have icons of my two favorite alternative models: Atilla and Zui Suicide. We'll start out with the Atilla, and the Zui will take up the last 3/4's of this post. Many of the Zui icons are from her time in Trashy Crue, and a few have another model in them. That is Lana Jade.
